Various Cultural Competitions
St. Francis School, Jamnagar, recently hosted a series of exciting cultural competitions that brought together both teachers and students in a display of talent and creativity. Teacher's Day Celebration
On September 5th, 2024, St. Francis School, Jamnagar, celebrated Teacher's Day with heartfelt gratitude and joy. The day began with students expressing their appreciation by offering flowers to their teachers and seeking their blessings, a gesture symbolizing respect and admiration.
The students also organized a special programme to honor their teachers. Though brief, the programme was filled with meaningful performances, including heartfelt speeches, songs, and acts that highlighted the role of teachers in shaping the future of students.

Independence Day Celebration at St. Francis School, Jamnagar
On the 15th of August, 2024, St. Francis School, Jamnagar, proudly celebrated India's Independence Day with great enthusiasm and patriotic spirit. The event commenced with the hoisting of the national flag by the esteemed Principal, Fr. Saji Mathew, as students, teachers, and staff sang the national anthem with pride.
Following the flag hoisting, the Green House students presented a vibrant cultural programme that captivated the audience. Their performances reflected the rich cultural heritage of India and instilled a sense of unity and patriotism among all present.
The celebration also included an awards ceremony, where both students and teachers were recognized for their outstanding participation in various competitions held during the latter part of the previous academic year. The recipients were awarded certificates and tokens of appreciation for their dedication and excellence in extracurricular activities.

Disaster Management Seminar
On Friday, 2nd August, St. Francis School hosted a seminar
on Disaster Management at its auditorium. This insightful event was organized
by the Jamnagar Municipal Corporation in collaboration with the Relief
Director's Office, Revenue Department Gandhinagar.
The seminar was divided into two comprehensive sessions,
aiming to equip students with essential knowledge and skills for handling
various disasters. Through a combination of classes and practical
demonstrations, the students learned critical survival techniques such as First
Aid, administering CPR, and methods for safely carrying an injured person
during emergencies.
The sessions were highly informative and interactive,
ensuring that the students actively participated and engaged with the material.
The organizers also provided snacks for the attendees, adding a hospitable
touch to the educational experience.
Overall, the seminar was a resounding success, leaving the
students better prepared to face potential disasters with confidence and
competence.

Vaccination Programme
Vaccination Programme at St. Francis School, Jamnagar
From July 24th to July 27th, St. Francis School, Jamnagar,
hosted a government-organized DT and DPT vaccination programme. The programme
aimed to protect students from Diphtheria, Pertussis, and Tetanus through
immunization.

KG Students: Administered DPT vaccine.
Students of Std. 5 and 10: Administered DT vaccine.
Health Awareness Session
On July 27th, the final day of the programme, a doctor from
the medical team conducted an informative session on Cholera. The session
covered:
Disease Overview: Explanation of what Cholera is.
Transmission: Detailed discussion on how Cholera spreads.
Preventive Measures: Guidelines on precautions to prevent
the spread of Cholera.
The vaccination programme and the educational session were
well-received, highlighting the importance of immunization and health awareness
among students. The initiative reflects the school's commitment to the health
and well-being of its students.

Investiture Ceremony
On the 13th of July 2024, St. Francis School, Jamnagar, held its prestigious Investiture Ceremony, marking the beginning of a new academic year with a spirit of leadership and responsibility. The event was graced by the esteemed presence of Mr. S.P. Zala, the Probational Police Inspector (P.I.) of Jamnagar City B, who was the chief guest of the day.
The ceremony commenced with the solemn procession of the newly elected school leaders. The school prefects, both boy and girl, were bestowed with badges and the school flag, symbolizing their roles as the pillars of student governance and discipline. Following this, the house prefects received their badges and house flags, ready to lead their respective houses towards excellence.
In addition to the prefects, all class monitors were honored with badges, recognizing their responsibility in maintaining decorum and fostering a positive classroom environment. The atmosphere was filled with pride and anticipation as the young leaders took their oaths, pledging to uphold the values and ethos of St. Francis School.
The ceremony also celebrated academic and co-curricular achievements. Olympiad winners were awarded medals and certificates, acknowledging their hard work and brilliance. The highlight of the awards segment was the recognition of last year's SSC and HSC toppers, who were presented with shields, applauding their outstanding performance and dedication.
The chief guest, Mr. S.P. Zala, addressed the gathering with an inspiring speech, emphasizing the importance of leadership, discipline, and academic excellence. His words resonated with the students, motivating them to strive for greater heights.
The Investiture Ceremony concluded with a sense of renewed commitment and enthusiasm among the students and staff. It was a day of pride, joy, and inspiration, setting a positive tone for the year ahead.

Parents' Orientation Pre KG and KG
An orientation for the parents of Nursery and KG students was held at the St. Francis School Jamnagar auditorium. A good number of parents participated in the interactive session. Teachers provided guidance on school rules and academic expectations, as well as tips on caring for young children both at home and in school. Parents had their doubts clarified, ensuring clear communication. Additionally, some parents shared their positive experiences with the school, creating a supportive and collaborative atmosphere. The session concluded with a renewed sense of partnership between the school and the parents.

Prayer Day
On June 20th, St. Francis School held a prayer service for students in KG to 4th grade, followed by another for 5th to 8th grade on June 21st, and finally for 9th to 12th grade on June 25th. These services took place in the school auditorium and saw active participation from both teachers and students within their respective sections. The purpose was to invoke God's blessings at the beginning of the academic year.
During the service, student representatives shared meaningful extracts from various religious texts, emphasizing the importance of education and proper upbringing. They also offered a variety of study and play materials as symbols, praying for the success and well-being of each student.

Training of K.G. Staff
A training program for the KG and Nursery staff was
conducted on Saturday, June 15, 2024, at St. Francis School, Jamnagar. The
resource person for the seminar was Ms. Ammu from Learnware Publication. The
seminar concluded at 1:30 p.m. In addition to the staff of St. Francis School,
the staff of St. Xavier's Jamnagar also attended the seminar.

Orientation For Parents [Std. I & II]
On Saturday, June 22, 2024, an orientation for parents of students in standards I and II was conducted at the auditorium of St. Francis School in Jamnagar. The event started at 8 a.m. and saw a good turnout of parents. During the orientation, teachers provided guidance on various school disciplines. An interactive session was also held, allowing parents to engage directly with the teachers. The parents appreciated this opportunity, expressing satisfaction and happiness about participating in the program. Overall, the orientation was well-received, fostering a positive connection between the parents and the school.

Anti Drug Day Rally
The theme for World Drug Day 2024 is: "The evidence is clear: invest in prevention". The theme teaches countries the importance of understanding that effective drug policies need to be grounded in science, research, compassion, and full respect for human rights. As a part of this the NCC cadets and the Teachers of Eco Club along with some other students conducted a rally from St. Francis School Jamnagar with the intention of bringing awareness among people to stay away from the use of drugs.

Navratri Celebration
The Navratri celebration at St. Francis School
in Jamnagar for Std. 5th to 12th was held on October 14th, 2023. It
was a vibrant and joyous event. Students, adorned in colorful traditional
attire, participated in various types of folk and traditional dances,
showcasing their enthusiasm and talent. Teachers played a pivotal role in
organizing and guiding the students, fostering a sense of cultural
appreciation. The festive spirit and cultural exchange created a memorable
experience for both students and teachers alike. The winners were given
special prizes at the end of the programme.

Teacher's Day was celebrated on 5th of September 2023. Students expressed their love and respect for the teachers by conducting various programmes. Teachers had an excusive programme and lunch.

Seminar By Regional Science Center
A seminar was conducted by the Regional Science Center Dhrol on 23rd June Friday. Students of std. 7,8 and 9 attended the programme.

Faculty Improvement Programme
A seminar for the teaching staff of the school was conducted on the 2nd and 3rd of June 2023. The resource person was Jos Jibrel. All the staff were enriched by attending the seminar.

Best ANO of Naval NCC, Jamnagar
Second Officer Mital Shah, ANO of the NCC unit in our school attended All
India Nau Sainik Camp at Vishakhapatnam in September, 2022. She was awarded the best ANO of Jamnagar Zone
(out of 300 schools) by 8 Gujarat Naval Unit, NCC Jamnagar on 15 March 2023.

Aditya Samani, one of our NCC Cadets from Class 9 A participated in the ‘Republic
Day Camp’ (RDC) 2023 at Delhi. This great achievement was recognised with
an award by NCC Group Commander, Jamnagar and
honouring him at the award day function of the school.

Farewell to Mrs. Jayshree Thakkar
Mrs. Jayshree Thakkar, who was part of
the institution for the last 19 years was given a farewell in the presence of
her family members on 25th March, 2023. The warmth, sincerity,
commitment, enthusiasm, dedication and motherly concern for the students were remembered
on this day. St. Francis Family wish you a happy and healthy retired life.

Second Home to Alma Mater
Students of Std. XII were given farewell on
17th February. Students of Std. XI arranged a beautiful and short programme,
recalling the memories of the outgoing Students. The management, teachers, and
juniors blessed them with good wishes and prayers. Very soon, the school, which
was their second home, is going to become their Alma Mater.

Annual Sports Day 2022-23
Annual Sports Day of the Academic Year 2022-23
was held on 11th February, Saturday. Fr. George Joseph CMI, Principal
of St. Xavier’s School, Jamnagar hoisted the school flag and took the salute of
the march past and Fr. Saji Mathew, our principal opened the sports meet. The
students of four houses competed in different items like Relay Race, High Jump,
Long Jump, Cycle Slow Race, Tug of War, 100 -200-400-meter race etc. The
winners were awarded medals and certificates.

The Sports Day of K.G to Std IV students was
conducted on 3 & 4th February, 2023. The little ones were seen
with a lot of enthusiasm and spirit.

Vigyan Ratn Award
Yog Jatin Dhruve (class 7 A) and Khushal
Rahul Joshi (class 7 B) of our school, attended & completed the Maths-Science
Activity Course of one year organised by Sri M.D. Mehta District Science Centre,
Dhrol (Jamnagar). They participated in all the practical activities conducted by
the centre during the year 2022-23 and actively participated in the 'Science Maths
Experiments Program' (district level) held on 28th February, 2023. They presented
their experiments to the ISRO scientists and they have been awarded 'Vigyan Ratn
Award.'

Motivation Seminar
A
seminar on behavior, psychology, and academics was conducted for the students
of high school on 25th February. The seminar was resourced by Mr. Hardik
Trivedi. The session included the use of technology and its effects on behavior
and study.

International Cultural Jamboree
It
is a matter of joy and pride for the school that 2 of our Guides – Megha
Gopiyani and Jiya Joshi and & 2 Scouts – Kishan Joshi, Kunal Gupta along
with 2 of our teachers, Guide Captain Ms. Mital Shah and Mr. Sidharth Mehtha
attended the First International Scout Jamboree Organised by Alvas Education
Foundation at Mangalore (Karnataka) from 21st December – 27th
December 2022. They took part in different cultural, art and craft activities.
It was a great learning experience for them. Both Scouts and Guides and the in-charge
teachers are awarded with certificate for the successful completion of the camp
activities.

Pariksha Pe Churcha
A
live streaming of ‘Pariksha Pe Churcha’ – (Prime Minister’s interaction with
the students in connection with the upcoming board exams) was held in the
school on 27 January, 2023. Students of Std IX – XII watched the live telecast in
the library and classrooms.

Republic Day 2023
74th
Republic Day of our nation was observed in the school with great feelings of
patriotism and honour for the Constitution of our country. The Principal and
Staff of St. Xavier’s School joined us for the flag hoisting ceremony at 8.30
am. Colonel Manish Malhotra hoisted the National Flag and gave a Republic Day
Message, in which he reminded the students of their duty to be responsible
citizens in taking our nation to heights. The celebrations were solemnised with
the parade conducted by the NCC, Scout & Guide students and the display
depicting the theme ‘Diversity of Culture’. The flag hoisting ceremony was
followed by a cultural fiesta by the blue house at the school auditorium.

National Voters' Day - 2023
In order to encourage more
young voters to take part in the democratic process of our nation, 13th
National Voters’ Day was Celebrated in the School on 25th January,
2023. Considering the theme for this year’s celebrations ‘Nothing Like Voting,
I Vote for Sure’, all the staff members of the institution made an oath on
fulfilling their duty of voting for the nation.

FACULTY IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM
On 9th and 10th of June, 2024, a faculty Development program was conducted for the teachers of St. Francis School Jamnagar. The training was conducted by Faculty Trainer Mr. Dixon Ronald Samuel, who is the Chairperson and Founder of Green Valley Publication and Author of 25 Academic Books. He started the training with beautiful words “Take the first step to the Temple" by cleansing the dirt from our beautiful brains. He taught reasons why training and development is important, what successful teachers do differently, why is teamwork important, Importance of professionalism, 13 important traits that help us to showcase our core values and classroom management. The two days training was filled with fun and activities where everybody actively participated and enjoyed.

Science-Maths Exhibition 2023
Students of
our school participated in the district level ‘Maths-Science and Environment Exhibition’
organised by GCERT Gandhinagar and DEO Jamnagar at G.M. Patil Girls School, Dhrol
on 3rd and 4th January, 2023. Two of our projects selected
in the exhibition held at Dayanand Girls School, Jamnagar were presented in the
Exhibition. The participant students were awarded with certificates and gifts.
Congratulations to the students who participated and the Science Teachers,
Jayshree Thakar, Arti Jaiswal, and Smitha Kashiv who prepared them.

Seminar on N.E.P - 2020
On 8th June, 2024 Saturday a seminar on National Education Policy was conducted by the Principal Rev. Father Saji Mathew, where he briefed about how Pedagogy must evolve to make education more experiential and learner centred. He also emphasized on the importance of foundational care which is an important part of Early Childhood Care & Education. He also discussed about the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), Fundamental Principles of Education and New methods of teaching and recruitment.

Christmas 2023
Christmas was celebrated with great joy. The Yellow house presented a colourful program that everyone enjoyed. Fr. Joseph Kattakayam the Parish Priest of Jamnagar was the chief guest. Fr. Cyriac the Manager presided over the whole program. At the end Santa gave gift to the lucky ones.
